Android Developer · Chennai, India

Hi, I'm Gunaseelan.
I build Android apps.

Building apps is what I do for the love of it. I take an idea all the way through on my own — the design, the code and the Play Store listing — and I've put two of them out into the world so far.

01 — About me

A bit about me

I'm an Android developer based in Chennai, India, and building apps is my hobby. It started as curiosity about how the phone in my pocket actually works, and turned into something I do most evenings — the kind of apps that are quick to open, easy to understand, and don't ask for more than they need.

Most of what I make ends up circling privacy. Not as a marketing line, but as a design choice: I'd rather keep your data on your phone than on someone's server. It makes the engineering harder and the promise simpler, and I think that's the right trade.

I care a lot about the details people never think to notice — an app that opens instantly, text that stays readable when you scale it up, an interface that works in your own language, and buttons big enough to actually hit. That's most of the work, and it's the part I enjoy.

What I'm always looking for is the next idea worth building — a small annoyance nobody has fixed yet, or something you wish your phone could do. I'm also teaching myself game development on the side, which is a good reminder of how much there still is to learn.

Two apps I've launched

Both are mine end to end — the idea, the design, the code and the store listing.

Secure Notes

A private vault that lives on your phone.

A single, locked place for the things you'd rather not leave lying around — passwords, private notes, personal documents, photos, and a simple way to keep track of your money.

Everything is encrypted and stays on your device. There's no account to create and nothing is uploaded anywhere, so there's no server holding your data. You open it with your fingerprint, face or a PIN, and it locks itself again when you walk away.

  • Passwords and login details, kept safe
  • Private notes, folders and attachments
  • Photos and videos hidden from your gallery
  • Everyday budgeting and expense tracking
  • Works offline, in 24 languages

AppShield

See what the apps on your phone can really do.

Most people have no idea what they've agreed to. AppShield looks at the apps already installed on your phone and explains, in plain language, what each one is allowed to access and how risky that combination is.

It flags apps that ask for more than they need, points out the ones that didn't come from an official store, and shows you which tracking services are bundled inside. You get a clear score for each app and a report you can keep or share.

  • A plain-English risk score for every app
  • Permission warnings that actually explain themselves
  • Detects trackers hidden inside apps
  • Flags apps installed from unofficial sources
  • Shareable reports and scan reminders

Got an idea worth building?

If there's something you wish an app could do — or you've just tried one of mine and want to tell me what's broken — I'd genuinely like to hear it. Email is the best way to reach me.
